Apple Pear Crisp
Ingredients:
- 6 Granny Smith Apples
- 2 D'Anjou pears
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1 Tbsp cinnamon
- 2 Tbsp lemon juice
- 3/4 cup + 2 tbsp flour
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup cold butter or margarine
- 1/2 cup walnuts
Directions:
-1- Preheat oven at 350 degrees.
-2- Peel, core and slice the apples and pears into eights.
-3- If you don't have Grannies and D'Anjours, use whichever apples and pears you have on hand.
-4- Toss the apples with the maple syrup, cinnamon, lemon juice and 2 Tbsp flour until well coated.
-5- Place in a 9 by 12-inch lightly buttered baking dish.
-6- Put the rest of the flour, brown sugar, and butter in a food processor, and pulse until crumbly.
-7- Add the nuts and pulse, to coarsely chop them.
-8- Place the toppings onto the apple/pear mixture and bake for 40 minutes.
-9- Remove from the oven and sere warm.
Serving suggestions:
This dessert is rich so limit your portions to 3 Tbsp. You can add some red berries sauce on it if you feel like adding some colors.
Avoid adding ice cream to keep the calorie count in control.
